Matt Scanlan, a lifetime Tallahassee resident, graduated Florida State University College of Law with Honors in 2006.  Following a two-year Clerkship with the Honorable Bradford Thomas at the First District Court of Appeal, Matt has spent the remainder of his career primarily representing insurance carriers, self-insured entities, and their insureds in both the private and public sector.
 

    Over the years, Matt’s extensive civil practice has involved a myriad of issues, including both 1st and 3rd party claims in coverage disputes, personal injury matters, PIP claims, premises liability, medical malpractice, property claims, employment discrimination, HOA disputes, alleged police misconduct, and appellate issues.  Most recently, Matt administered all aspects of municipality litigation from inception to resolution as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Tallahassee.
 

    Matt volunteers his time as a Board Member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, which allows him to stay abreast of the complex legal issues facing carriers across the state.  Locally, Matt is active in the William H. Stafford Inns of Court.  
 

    Matt is licensed to practice law in all Florida courts, as well as the United States Federal District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida
